EMPOWERING LIVES, BUILDING FUTURES

HISTORY:

The story of SCINOSA begins in 1960 with one father’s struggle. Mr. A.S. Muslim, whose first-born son was diagnosed with Down Syndrome, he searched desperately across Pakistan for help. In the late 1950s, there were no professionals, no centres, no guidance for parents like him. Out of despair, he published a letter in the newspapers, appealing to doctors, parents, and anyone with knowledge about children with intellectual disabilities to come forward.

Our Vision

As the pioneering institution in Pakistan to endeavour to be a centre of excellence for special children with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities with special needs.

Our Mission

SCINOSA is dedicated to providing quality training, care and rehabilitation for children with Down syndrome and intellectual disabilities with special needs We strive to nurture their abilities, empower independence and create opportunities for their meaningful and valuable participation in society.

WELCOME TO SCINOSA !

Welcome to our Society for Children In Need Of Special Attention (SCINOSA). Our day home is where every child’s potential is nurtured, celebrated, and supported. Our school was born out of a deep commitment to providing a safe, loving, inclusive and empowering environment for children with special needs and the differently abled. SCINOSA came about after by Mr. Abdul Sattar Muslim, whose eldest child was born with Downs’ Syndrome, found an absence of a centre that catered to schooling and training of children with special needs.
Our journey began with a vision to create a space where all children, regardless of their abilities, could thrive. As a society, we recognized the gap in accessible and a safe environment for children who may not fit into traditional learning models. Mr. A.S. Muslim, a trailblazer, along with the help of other families of children with similar disabilities, felt compelled to make a difference by creating a school that not only focuses on basic academics but also on emotional, social, and developmental growth.

Our Programmes

Special education is designed to prepare students for life beyond the classroom setting. The teaching of vocational skills is intended to set up the student for success after basic education. Through vocational skills training, students will learn how to prepare for a job, find a job, apply for a job and excel at a job.

We have divided the vocational programs into two groups.

  • Pre vocational group.
  • Vocational group.
In soft vocation we have various mind stimulating activities such as learning to cut, paste, make envelopes and decoration pieces such as flowers using dough and coiling paper. Pottery and wool work is also a part of our curriculum.

Real Change Through Collective Action

We have created a meaningful impact across diverse communities, transforming lives through sustainable programs in education, healthcare, clean water, and more.

With the unwavering support of donors and volunteers, we continue to expand our reach, uplifting more lives and empowering communities in need through impactful, long-lasting initiatives.
